Malcom Brogdon made two 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter, including the one for the go-ahead points with 40.7 seconds to play, and the visiting Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Toronto Raptors 104-99 on Sunday night. Brogdon finished with 18 points for the Bucks, who have twice defeated the Raptors this season. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 19 points and grabbed 19 rebounds for the Bucks and Brook Lopez also had 19 points while Khris Middleton and Tony Snell scored 10 each.
Khris Middleton was a surprise DNP, Brandon Ingram got hurt, and Russell Westbrook, Paul George, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Karl-Anthony Towns all went off. Lakers 121, Spurs 113 – Brandon Ingram lasted just five minutes before leaving with a sprained left ankle and Josh Hart started the second half in his place, but Hart was dogged by foul trouble and only played 13 minutes.
The formula for success in Milwaukee doesn't always have to revolve around the high-scoring duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. Eric Bledsoe matched his season high with 27 points and Antetokounmpo added 15 as the Bucks rolled to a 115-92 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. Middleton, the team's second-leading scorer at 18.5 points per game, was inactive for personal reasons.
Considering the opponent and venue, Wednesday might have been the best the Bulls have played for a 48-minute stretch all year. The Bucks closed on a 7-2 run, including a Khris Middleton 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds left, and sent the Bulls to their fourth straight loss. There wasn't a debate about the backup point guard position, but Ryan Arcidiacono silenced any final critics with another stellar performance.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's stat line was nothing to get excited about: seven points, seven rebounds, two blocks and one assist. Kidd-Gilchrist brought energy on both ends of the floor, including a rejection of Khris Middleton off the glass on a fast-break layup attempt. Charlotte forced 16 turnovers, limited Milwaukee to a season-low 40 points in the paint and played perhaps its best defensive game of the season.
