Blake Griffin News

Blake Griffin doesn't need to jump over any cars to be a hit in the Motor City. A year after arriving in Detroit with his career at a crossroads, a more earthbound Griffin is doing all he can to shake the Pistons out of their decade-long malaise. Probably one of our better pick-and-roll players, passers, scorers, leader by example, just so many things,'' Detroit coach Dwane Casey said.

Al Horford on flagrant: 'Blake is a great actor' originally appeared on nbcsportsboston.com BOSTON - Boston Celtics big man Al Horford downplayed the flagrant foul whistled against him late in Wednesday's win over the Detroit Pistons, taking a jab at Blake Griffin in the process. Horford and Griffin collided near midcourt as Horford tried to break up an inbounds pass with Griffin sprinting out ahead following a Boston make. Horford's right arm hit Griffin's head but the Detroit forward dramatically spun a full 360 degrees before flailing to the parquet on his stomach.

NBA Twitter was taken aback on Monday night when Bradley Beal apparently traveled while trying to avoid Blake Griffin as the Washington Wizards took on the Detroit Pistons. Beal was driving toward the basket when Griffin jumped in front of him, prompting Beal to lose control the ball and stutter step before finally dishing out to a teammate. On Tuesday morning, the NBRA said, through their Twitter account, that Beal did not travel thanks to his loss of possession.

Following two miserable months, the Detroit Pistons are heading toward the All-Star break on a high note. Not surprisingly, the surge has been led by All-Star power forward Blake Griffin and center Andre Drummond. Griffin is averaging 25.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists during the winning streak while Drummond is averaging 26.3 points, 16.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks.
