The Raptors will be missing their second-string point guard for a little longer than expected.

Thursday was a busy day in the NBA, as it was trade deadline day. Add in the fact that there were six games on the schedule and All-Star Game captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo were making their selections, and the Association grabbed many of the major sports headlines. Among the standouts Thursday were the aforementioned James, who posted his fourth triple-double of the season, Russell Westbrook, C.J. McCollum and Toronto's tandem of Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet.
Pascal Siakam scored a career-high 33 points, Fred VanVleet added a career-best 30 and the Raptors rallied after trailing by 17 points in the first half to beat the Atlanta Hawks 119-101 on Thursday night. Toronto, which pulled within 1 1/2 games of Eastern Conference leader Milwaukee, acquired center Marc Gasol from Memphis before Thursday's trade deadline for Jonas Valanciunas, C.J. Miles and Delon Wright, and a 2024 second-round draft pick. The team should learn Friday when to expect Gasol's arrival.
