Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr probably knew this was coming, handed a $25,000 fine by the NBA for his outburst at officials. Kerr was fined for "verbally abusing and confronting" an official in Golden State's 129-107 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, the league announced on Thursday. He was given two technical fouls and ejected in the fourth quarter when he threw down his clipboard and yelled at officials after it was deemed Draymond Green committed a flagrant foul on Portland big man Zach Collins.
Golden State Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant empathised with Steve Kerr after the head coach was ejected during the loss to the Portland Trail Blazers having thrown a clipboard in response to a flagrant foul call. Kerr was enraged late in the fourth quarter when Draymond Green was called for a flagrant foul after he stopped Zach Collins from approaching the rim as he went up for a shot. That drew Kerr's ire and after ranting in one referee's face, he slammed a clipboard down to earn an ejection, with Durant having to escort his head coach back off the court.
Skip Bayless intrigued by Zach Collins & Trail Blazers after hard fought win over Golden State Warriors originally appeared on nbcsportsnorthwest.com Skip Bayless, most recently known for his role on UNDISPUTED, sent the following tweet after the Trail Blazers knocked off the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night to head into the All-Star break on a high note. First, let's be clear that Bayless has a less than stellar "hot takes" record and he certainly dipped his toe in the water with this Trail Blazers analysis.
But Curry played just seven total minutes and didn't get off the bench after halftime. Then in the third quarter, Zach Collins got seven spot minutes at backup center minutes, supplanting Leonard. The Blazers bench has been a key to their success so far this season, and Hood should only add to that dynamic even if he disrupts the status quo.
